Electronics and Appliances
Don’t forget to check your appliances for voltage compatibility. Singapore uses 230 Volts, 50 Hertz and Three Flat pins plug known as Type G Plug. You can purchase adapters for other shapes of plugs but you will need a voltage transformer to change the voltage or support 60 Hertz Appliance.


Travelling Around By Public Transport
The public transport system in Singapore is efficient and convenient as the Government of Singapore promote its use over private transport. Buses, MRT (Train) and Taxi will bring you around the island affordably.

Travelling by bus is easy in Singapore as detailed Bus information will be available at major bus stops. You can also choose to plan your route or find out about individual bus service information by visiting the SBS Transit and SMRT Bus Website.

Taxis are plentiful in Singapore. Taxi fares will be charged according to meters and will be subjected to surcharges like peak hour, airport surcharge, city area surcharge, midnight charges and more. Surcharges and fares varies slightly between different taxi companies. You can also choose to book taxis in advance. Driving In Singapore
Similar to British Colonies, Singapore cars are right-hand drive. You would be allowed to register your left-hand drive cars if you choose to bring it with you unless based on a diplomatic exemption.

Buying and owning a car in Singapore can be expensive. You will need to pay for a Certificate of Entitlement (COE) when you buy a car and if you drive around there will be Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) charges you will need to pay beside parking fees.

Driving License
If you are planning to be in Singapore for less than 12 months, you will not require a Singapore license and can drive with your home country license. An International Driving Permit is required if your license isn’t in English.

Should you be staying more than 12 months, conversion of your license to a Singapore License is require before the end of your 12 months stay in Singapore.
